Excelsior Principal Carol Boyden presents Jorge Alberto Trujillo-Pineda with the first $500 Cheryl Trent Memorial Scholarship. Trent, a former teacher, died in November 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Boyden said the scholarship is presented to a student "who has struggled, who has worked hard and who has accomplished the goal of graduation and has never given up."
