Washougal motocross racer honored

Washougal native Levi Kitchen was awarded the Nicky Hayden American Motocross Association’s Horizon Award, presented annually to the amateur motocross racer with the most promising professional career, earlier this month.

Revved up: Washougal racer competes in his first pro event

In the winter of 2018, Washougal residents Paul and Sara Kitchen packed up their motorhome and drove their 17-old son Levi to Kentwood, Louisiana, where he would enter the Real Deal motocross training program at the Wildwood MX Park. They knew Levi couldn’t solely rely on his talent anymore and needed professional training if he wanted to become the best motocross racer he could be. They also knew that they couldn’t continue to financially support his burgeoning career and that it was time for him to turn his passion into a living.

Intensity stands test of time

So the question remains, which team is better? Camas and Skyview scored goals this time and still nothing was settled after another 90 minutes of soccer at its finest Friday, at Doc Harris Stadium. Nate Beasley and Cameron Eyman came through with hard fought goals for the Papermakers, but Carter Johnson and Brandon Zilles became the equalizers for the Storm.

Ward is recommended for Port position

Voters have two choices as they cast their ballots for Port of Camas-Washougal Commission District 2, and while the Post-Record is recommending Bill Ward to fill that seat, his challenger Neil Cahoon has presented himself as a noteworthy opponent.
