Washougal school levy foes rally ahead of April 25 election

Two weeks ahead of the April 25 special election that will decide the fate of two Washougal School District levies that pay for everything from athletics and arts classes to roof repairs, technology and school nurses, a group led by Washougal resident and Clark County Republican Party Precinct Committee Officer Glenn Kincaid gathered in downtown Washougal on Monday, April 10, to wave “vote no” signs and urge voters to turn against the school levies.

Students represent WHS at board meetings

Washougal High School (WHS) students Briahna Ruth and Maliyah Veale are involved in a variety of school activities, including the Associated Student Body (ASB) leadership group and the Panthers’ cheerleading squad. They are also the school’s student representatives to the Washougal School District (WSD) board of directors during the 2019-20 school year.

When you ask 18-year-old Amelia Pullen the recipe for what got her to where she is today — preparing to graduate as one of Washougal High School’s four valedictorians for the class of 2019, she likely will point to a mixture that is equal parts family support, the unconditional love of her pets, the guidance of a few dedicated teachers and finding a good balance between hard work and relaxation.
