Gause Elementary students celebrate Earth Day by planting trees

Gause Elementary students celebrate Earth Day by planting trees

Gause Elementary School students planted trees on April 22, in celebration of Earth Day. Trees were donated by the Washougal Mayor’s Office, and Mayor Stacee Sellers was on hand for pictures to honor the efforts of the students in promoting a healthy, sustainable planet. The planting of the trees near the school’s playground was the culmination of a month-long study of environmental awareness and ways the students can help encourage practices that will help the “greening” of school and the surrounding community. On hand for the picture-taking ceremony were: (left to right) Heather Christofferson, Sandra Goza, Robbie Fisher, Hannah Collado, Joel Lassman, Jesse Gruver, Robert Bell, Christian Cole and Mayor Stacee Sellers.
