Washougal tunnel brings heritage, people and river together

On Saturday morning, local officials including (left to right) former Washougal Mayor Jeff Guard, current Washougal Mayor Sean Guard, Third District Congressman Brian Baird, former Washougal Mayor Les Sonneson, and current Pendleton Manager Charlie Bishop (not pictured) performed the Washougal Pedestrian Tunnel's ceremonial grand opening using a ribbon made from Pendleton wool. The event was attended by a variety of local, state and federal officials and representatives. The tunnel entrance is located at 2 Pendleton Way, in downtown Washougal.
