Camas student studies at Sea of Cortez

Sean Boedeker of Camas spent January studying at the Sea of Cortez in the Gulf of California through a special program at Linfield College.

Boedeker is a senior majoring in biochemistry He took a class where students retraced part of the 1940 voyage of the writer John Steinbeck and the biologist Edward Ricketts, who traveled there to study seashore life.

Boedeker was among 130 students participating in on-site study programs through Linfield College’s January term, a four-week period of concentrated study, where students and faculty focus their time and attention on a single course.

Cape Horn-Skye announces Super Citizens

The following students have been selected as “Super Citizens” at Cape Horn-Skye Elementary School for the month of January.

Linfield releases fall dean’s list

Katelyn Henson was named to the dean’s list at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

To be named to the list, a student must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
