Area residents will have another opportunity to comment on the revitalization of the former Hambleton Lumber Company site and additional waterfront properties.

An open house will be held Tuesday, March 13, at 6 p.m., in the Port of Camas-Washougal office meeting room, 24 S. “A” St., Washougal. Consultants from Maul, Foster Alongi, of Vancouver, will moderate the session.

During the open house, comments will be solicited regarding a variety of businesses that could be part of the future site development.

Killian Pacific, a commercial real-estate development and investment company located in Vancouver and Portland, is interested in buying the former lumberyard located at 335 “A” St., Washougal. A potential partnership with the port could result in a mixed-use development.

The port owns 14.7 acres on the other side of the former Hambleton site, known as the Sixth Street property.

In July 2011, the port received a $200,000 Integrated Planning Grant from the Department of Ecology to determine what environmental cleanup may be required.
