There’s no place like home for the Camas High School football team.
The Papermakers are 19-1 at the new Doc Harris Stadium since it opened in 2010.
On Homecoming night Friday, they defeated the Battle Ground Tigers 49-21 to go undefeated in their first year in the 4A Greater St. Helens League and capture the league championship.
Nate Beasley delivered two touchdown runs and snagged an interception on defense. Zach Eagle added an interception return for a touchdown. Reilly Hennessey fired touchdown passes to Connor Maloney and Dylan White. Vince Huber and John Norcross also had touchdown runs.
These Camas football players are living up to a legacy. The 2010 team won the first state playoff game in school history. The 2011 squad took their town to the Tacoma Dome for the first time. And now, these Papermakers are creating their own path.
The story continues with that first playoff game Friday or Saturday at Doc Harris Stadium. There’s no place like home.
