Young composer to have music played in concert

He has been composing for the last several years with the Young Composers, the only program of its kind in the country.
Students from Oregon and Washington, hand-picked by their music teachers, work with Fear No Music director Jeffrey Payne and his musicians in a yearlong series of workshops. Pathak will join other young northwest composers, sixth-graders through high school seniors, for the concert at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Reed College, 3202 S.E. Woodstock Blvd.
Former Young Composers participants have earned national, state and regional awards for their compositions. Tickets, $15, are available at the door. For more information, call 503-335-3386, or visit www.fearnomusic.org.
