Matt and Kaye Masco will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, Jan. 5.

They met in Northwest Portland and were married at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vancouver Jan. 5, 1963. Longtime Washougal residents, Matt and Kaye raised three daughters: Monica Masco, Laura Prosser and Meghan Masco Horan who celebrated their anniversary with them. They also have two grandsons, Zachary and William Prosser.

Their home in Washougal is always full of family and friends and a regular destination for holiday events and summer gatherings with doors open to all. Many hours have been spent talking, laughing and sharing stories on the deck or inside by the fire.

Matt worked in the lumber business for Neidermeyer-Martin Co. for 37 years and Kaye was a Skamania County Commissioner and worked for RSV Construction.

They are both avid golfers and world travelers, recently having visited Ireland and Cuba. Kaye has continued her lifelong passion for artistic mediums including fusing glass and making Raku pottery. Matt, always an amazing beer and wine maker, has branched out to delicious dessert making, much to the delight of his family and friends.

To commemorate their anniversary, and to fulfill a lifelong dream, they rang in the New Year at Times Square in New York.
