Spring break camps open to local children

There will be a number of camps for Camas-Washogual area children, who will be on spring break starting Monday.

Camas Camp-n-Ranch

4-Seasons 4-H Community Partners is hosting this camp Tuesday through Thursday, April 2 to 4, at Camas Camp-n-Ranch, 27312 N.E. Hathaway Road.

The program, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes daily tasks on a 4-H farm, activities and snacks.

Cost is $25 per day, and campers can attend one or more days. Attendees should bring a lunch, water bottle and a change of clothes.

Camas Community Education

Community education is offering a spring break camp Monday through Thursday, April 1 to 4, at the J.D. Zellerbach Administration Center, 841 N.E. 22nd Ave. Activities inlude Wii, air hockey, billiards, ping pong, computers, crafts, outside play time. Attendees should bring a sack lunch. Cost is $45 per day or $160 for the week.

Camas Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation is offering the following events and camps during spring break:

Junior Golf Camp, taught by PGA pro Dale Schoner, is designed to create a life-long golfers through a fun environment.

Golfers ages 5 to 16 will learn fundamentals, rules of golf and etiquette. A light lunch and beverages will be provided. Participants should bring their own clubs.

The camp will be held Monday through Wednesday, April 1 to 3, from noon to 3 p.m., at Green Mountain Golf Course, 2817 Ingle Road. Cost is $75 per person.

Spring Break Survival Camp will be held Monday through Thursday, April 1 to 4, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Scout Hall at Crown Park. Daily themes will include stranded, aliens, zombies, survival iQ, exercise, homemade gear, and more.

Programs are geared toward children ages 8 to 12. Cost is $60 per session.

Washougal Community Education

A basketball fundamentals camp, taught by Michael McElroy and other Washougal High School varsity basketball players, will be held Monday through Thursday, April 1 to 4, at the WHS gym, 1201 39th St.

Participants will learn shooting, offensive and defensive drills and other fundamentals, as well as how to play together and be a team player.

The camp for children in second through fourth grade will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., while the camp for grades five through eight will be held from noon to 2 p.m.

Cost is $40 per player.
