Christmas concert set
The Washougal Schools Foundation will host a Christmas Holiday Family Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Washburn Auditorium at Washougal High School, 1201 39th St.
There will be several local vocalists participating in the event.
Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Children can attend for free.
All proceeds will benefit the WSF, to provide creative classroom grants for educators and scholarships for high school seniors.
Magana makes dean’s list
Michelle Magana, a senior at the University of Washington, was named to the dean’s list for summer 2013.
She is a 2010 Washougal High School graduate.
Skills Center Restaurant is open weekdays
The Clark County Skills Center restaurant, “A Touch of Class” is open for breakfast and lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Breakfast is served from 8:45 to 10 a.m.; and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program is affiliated with the American Culinary Federation, and managed and operated by the students enrolled in the Skills Center Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts program.
A Touch of Class also offers groups of 10 to 200 meeting space with audio-visual and Internet capability, full-service banquet service and dining rooms. Church groups, boards, seminars, associations, private groups and service clubs are welcome.

Washougal receives Wells Fargo grant
The Washougal School District was among 85 recipients in Oregon and Washington to receive a $1,000 grant from Wells Fargo.
Almost all of the recipients are Title 1 schools, which means they have a high number or percentage of students from low-income families.
Public education is one of the major focus areas of Wells Fargo’s corporate philanthropy, according to a press release. Nationally, Wells Fargo donated more than $75 million to 8,000 educational programs and schools around the United States last year, including Oregon and Washington.
Locals graduate from EOU
The following area residents earned degrees from Eastern Oregon University during the 2012-13 academic year:
Molly Sien, Camas, master of business administration; and Carine Nguyen, Washougal, cum laude, bachelor of science in business administration.
