For the past several months, Camas-Washougal Post-Record staff members have been working diligently behind-the-scenes to update and redesign the newspaper’s website. The results of those efforts were finally unveiled yesterday, and the new website launched to the public.

The website has an updated look and feel, and there are a number of new features that will allow visitors to find the information they are looking for faster and easier than before.

Now, articles and news items related to education are divided into categories by school. Looking for coverage of or an upcoming event happening at Cape Horn-Skye Elementary or Camas High School? Simply click on those schools’ tabs and find what you’re looking for. In addition, Camas and Washougal high school sports fans can now immediately access their school’s game reports, with just the click of a button.

The website continues to offer local breaking news coverage, which has been expanded to include alerts for issues such as school weather closures and other emergencies.

Users can also purchase photos right from the website, connect to the newspaper’s Facebook page and Twitter feed, and easily access sports reporter Dan Trujillo’s new “On the Sidelines” blog.

We think this new website will partner well with the Post-Record’s print edition, which continues to offer the area’s most comprehensive coverage of Camas and Washougal news. Check out the new design, and let us know what you think.
