Camas and Washougal are kicking off December with a veritable winter blast of holiday cheer.

The fun starts Thursday night with Washougal’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade at Reflection Plaza in the downtown core. The jubilation continues on Friday with Hometown Holidays in downtown Camas, and the kickoff of the Washougal Festival of Trees at Hathaway Elementary School.

Every year, city staff, school district employees, members of service organizations and many, many others work hard to plan and prepare behind the scenes so that these events all come off without a hitch. The result is the creation of fun, magical and memorable experiences for all who attend.

Each year, thanks to all of this hard work, these celebrations seem to get better and better, and draw bigger and bigger crowds.

Yes, Camas and Washougal without a doubt continue to grow in population and change in landscape, but with these kinds of special events local leaders have also continued to find ways to capture those small town, cozy feelings that make these cities incredible places to live. And the reason’s why are illustrated particularly clearly with these Christmas celebrations that are designed to bring together community, friends and family.
