The man whose body was found in a Washougal neighborhood has been identified.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Daniel Woltman, 61, of Vancouver.

Investigator Tony Lopez said Monday the cause of death has not been determined.

WPD Cmdr. Allen Cook said on Friday, the man’s death is believed to be caused by a medical issue.

Cook said witnesses saw the man running up a hill Friday morning, near the intersection of 37th and “W” streets.

A female jogger found the man’s body, at approximately 6:50 a.m., in some ivy in that area.

“She found him sitting there,” Cook said. “It looks like he tried to call and fell backwards.

“It’s a very steep incline,” he added. “Officers were [already] there for a vehicle that had rolled down a hill and hit a house on 37th Street.”

The house was vacant. The initial call about the pickup truck accident occurred at 4:54 a.m.

“There’s no danger to the public,” Cook said, regarding the man’s death. “We do not feel it’s foul play.

“He might not have been involved with the truck,” he added. “It might have been two bizarre incidents in one neighborhood.”

WPD Det. Kate Tierney said police are continuing to investigate whether the two incidents are related. .
