Those browsing the Washougal School District website for back to school details are logging in to find a more contemporary and user friendly online tool.

WSD Technology Director Les Brown led a complete makeover of the website this past spring.

“A design review committee met several times to discuss how information should be organized and presented on the new site,” he said. “The new look puts many of the top searches by visitors right at their fingertips.”

The site’s home page, www.washougal.k12.wa.us, features recent photos of school activities and accomplishments. Visitors can then access links to information about back to school, bond construction updates, school events, individual school websites and more. Another important feature is that the site can be easily accessed and navigated on mobile devices.

“School has not even started yet and I’ve already been looking at the new school district website to find back to school information,” said Jemtegaard Middle School parent, Jocelyn Shedden, who participated in the design review committee. “I found it much easier to use on both my desktop and my smart phone compared with the previous website. I really like the new look and I anticipate using it often in the coming school year.”

Washougal web design firm dStudio21, led by Heather Jordan, was contracted to create the new site.
