Friends celebrate with champagne Friday afternoon, at Flutes & Rocks Lounge, in downtown Camas. The new business also has cocktails, beer and sparkling wines, as well as meat and cheese plates, bacon and spinach dip and cheese and chocolate fondues. The owners, Dan and Krista Smark, also own DS Fabrication & Design Inc., in Washougal.

The former Krystal’s Champagne Lounge has a new look and new owners.

Dan and Krista Smark have opened Flutes & Rocks Lounge, in downtown Camas.

Their office manager Chelsea Lindoff said the changes to the interior include replacing the front and top of the bar.

The front of the bar is now made from cedar plank, and the top is stainless steel.

“Dan created a lot of the new storage space, a cabinet near the bathrooms and all the glass storage racks behind the bar,” Lindoff said. “They also redid the color scheme of the walls, which are all freshly painted in a muted tone to help some of our furniture pieces to really pop.”

Classic movies are shown on a flat screen TV, and new appliances have been added in the back of the lounge for easier food preparation.

Food options include warm bacon and spinach dip, roasted red pepper and cashew spread, artisan cheese and charcuterie plates and Swiss Emmental fondue. Dessert fondue, with Belgian dark chocolate and white chocolate, are also available, with sourdough bread, marshmallows, bananas and cookies.

In addition to champagne, Flutes & Rocks has cognac, gin, rum, vodka and whiskey, as well as wine, beer and cider.

Krista has a background in management with Nordstrom’s.

She has also partnered with Dan, at their other business, DS Fabrication & Design Inc., a metal fabrication shop in Washougal.

“They both have a love for champagne and food, which grew into purchasing the lounge,” Lindoff said. “They truly want to spread their infectious love of champagne with the community, and they hope to make it a staple in all the celebratory events of the community.”

Flutes & Rocks Lounge, 500 N.E. Fourth Ave., is open Tuesday through Thursday, from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 4 to 11 p.m. A ribbon cutting celebration will be held as part of First Friday, Feb. 6, at 5:30 p.m.
