Local resident named to president’s list

Patrick McCarthy of Washougal has been named to the fall president’s list at Gonzaga University.

To be named to the list, students must earn at least a 3.7 GPA.

Utica College announces dean’s list

Charlene M. Blank of Camas has been named to the Utica College fall dean’s list in Utica, N.Y.

To be named to the list, students must have at least a 3.4 GPA.

Camas student is guest soloist

Camas High School student Yun Teng will be featured as a guest soloist in the upcoming Willamette Falls Symphony’s concert Sunday, Jan. 25.

Teng, a 17-year-old violinist, participated in the symphony’s Young Artist’s Competition to win the spot in the upcoming concert.

He studies with Kathryn Gray. He has played with the Portland Youth String Ensemble and the Portland Youth Philharmonic, and also in the Portland Summer Ensemble program and baroque ensemble.

The concert will be held at 3 p.m. at Oregon City United Methodist Church, 18955 South End Road. Tickets will be sold at the door. Cash and checks will be accepted. The cost is $12 for general admission, and $10 for senior citizens and students. Children younger than 12 are admitted free with and adult or senior.

Camas resident named to OCU dean’s list

Kayla Yraceburu of Camas has been named to fall dean’s honor roll at Oklahoma City University.

To be named to the honor roll, students must complete 12 credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Read to the dogs at the Camas library

Youngsters can “Read to the Dogs,” as part of a special program at the Camas Public Library.

Kids can read to certified therapy dogs Cooper and Bryquette. Each reading session will be 10 to 15 minutes.

Bryquette will be available every other Tuesday, from 4 to 5 p.m. Cooper will be available Wednesdays through April from 4 to 4:40 p.m.
