A local resident has been charged in the stabbing of a man in a Washougal home.

Virginia Rose Brandt, of Washougal, is charged with one count of second-degree assault and violation of a domestic violence no contact order.

She is accused of assaulting Timothy Nielson, on Jan. 9, at a home on the 2400 block of North “M” Street.

Washougal police officers were dispatched at approximately 2:30 a.m., to the Camas-Washougal Fire Department Station 43, at 1400 “A” St. Nielson had walked into the station, claiming he had been stabbed.

Nielson, 31, of Clark County, sustained a serious injury to his abdomen and was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Brandt, 23, was found to be in violation of a court order that prohibits her from being in the residence at the time of the assault. She is also facing several unrelated charges from a previous incident.
