Public contracting seminar to be held Friday

Winning federal construction contracts is among the topics

The Southwest Washington Contractors Association and Riverview Community Bank will present a business seminar focused on local to federal public contracting.

Topics will include Getting your foot in the door as a subcontractor, winning federal construction contracts and understanding the public owners’ point-of-view on construction agreement terms prior to bid.

The seminar will be held Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Waste Connections of Washington, 12115 N.E. 99th St., Ste. 1830, Vancouver.

Another workshop topic will be winning bid protests and protecting your right to award.

Presentations will be given by representatives of Advanced American Construction, Government Contractors Resource Network, Miller, Nash, Graham & Dunn LLP and Duggan, Schlotfeldt & Welch.

The cost to attend will be $90 for SWCA members and $120 for non-members. Coffee, pastries and lunch will be provided.

A lunch only option, which includes admission to hear the keynote speaker Katy Brooks, economic development director of the Port of Vancouver, will cost $30.
