Ron Sather sells vaporizers, battery packs and e-liquids at Mt. View Vapors, in Camas. "After quitting a 30-plus year cigarette habit by using vaporizers in 2013, I started researching the industry," he said. Ron and his wife, Kim, also own a vaporizer shop in Salem, Ore.

Two former cigarette smokers have opened Mt. View Vapors, in Camas.

Ron Sather, 50, smoked for 35 years. His wife, Kim, 54, smoked for 13 years.

They now use vaporizers, which produce vapor, not smoke.

“This product smells better and tastes better,” Ron said. “My lungs feel better.”

He said he is able to enjoy activities, such as kite boarding in Hood River and Rufus, Oregon, more often now.

“My quality of life has gone up,” Ron said. “I ride a bicycle to work.”

They moved from Albany, Oregon, to Washougal, in 2015, to live closer to several family members.

Ron described vaporizers as alternatives to traditional cigarettes. The vaporizers have nicotine without tar and carcinogens. Non-nicotine options are also available.

Mt. View Vapors sells vaporizer tanks, battery packs, chargers and e-liquids to people age 18 and older.

The e-liquids consist of pharmaceutical grade vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol-flavored liquid — with or without a nicotine additive.

“Higher vegetable glycerin content creates a thicker fluid and produces more vapor,” Ron said. “Many of the high end devices are specifically designed for use with this type of liquid.

“We carry a variety of liquids, ranging from 50 to 90 percent vegetable glycerin.

Approximately 45 flavors of e-liquids are in stock, and samples are available to try in the air-conditioned lounge. They are made in the U.S.

The e-liquid flavors include standard and menthol tobacco, vanilla, honeydew, watermelon, blueberry, lemonade and chocolate glazed doughnut.

They do not sell disposable e-cigarattes, primarily manufactured by cigarette companies.

The Sathers also own Northwest Freedom Vape, LLC., a vaporizer shop in Salem, Oregon. Ron’s son, Alex, is a co-owner and manager of that location which opened in January 2014.

Mt. View Vapors, 325 Lechner St., Camas, is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call 954-5015, email mtviewvapors@gmail.com or visit www.mtviewvapors.com.
