Friends of Crown Road calls for signatures

We are very concerned about traffic and utility impacts to the Crown Road area as developments occur on top of Woodburn Hill.

The City of Washougal is seeking a determination of non-significance in approving their NW Urban Growth Area Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Changes. These zoning changes will allow recently annexed area to develop property that would increase traffic, storm runoff, water and sewer extensions. The City has recently entered into a develop agreement with North Twenty Development and Marlin Development; both developments will directly impact SE Crown Road Corridor.

The county is asking the City of Washougal to work with local municipalities, C-TRAN and MPO to establish a consistent roadway standard for this corridor. We the residents of Clark County, Washougal, and Camas who live in this region ask that the municipalities and the county halt individual micro-planning and agreements with developers until such time that an Interlocal Agreement be established between Camas and Washougal and that a consistent macro-regional plan be developed for this corridor. The inter-local Agreement should be focused on transportation, sewer, water and storm water. Please accept these signatures as support for an inter-local agreement and stop developments until a regional plan is set in place.

We plan on gathering signatures. If you would like to sign our petition one will be available for signatures downtown at Navidi’s Olive Oil & Vinegars, 322 N.E. Camas, which is open Monday through Friday, from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
