Grow Clark County will focus on virtual reality, in Washougal

Immersive Media will host Feb. 9 networking session

The Washougal company that provided the camera and mapping technology for Google Street View will host the first “Grow Clark County” session of 2016.

Immersive Media will present information about virtual reality technology, Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Washougal Town Square, 1700 Main St., Ste. 222. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

The cost to attend is $10 per person.

Immersive Media moved its worldwide sales and marketing office and U.S. headquarters from Vancouver to Washougal Town Square, in November 2014. Employees also work in the areas of engineering and research and development operations.

Immersive Media introduced a 360-degree full digital camera system in 2004, as well as a viewer for 360-degree content that works online. The company has hosted streaming live concerts utilizing its imLive system and created viewers for iOS and Android.

Other new technology has included a wireless 4G 360-degree camera system, to be deployed by helicopter. Clients include Lexus, Land Rover, The Black Eyed Peas and ABC News.

The global head office for Immersive Media Company is located in Kelowna, B.C., while the innovation center is in Santa Monica, California. The research and development office is in Dallas, Texas.
