Washougal Rivers Edge Pickleball Tournament is July 15-17

The Washougal Rivers Edge Dinosaur Doubles Pickleball Tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, July 15 through 17, at Hathaway Park in Washougal.

On Friday, the courts at 799 25th St. will be available for open play. A no-host social will be begin at 7 p.m. at Amnesia Brewing, 1834 Main St., in Washougal.

On Saturday, the tournament gets underway at 8 a.m. Matches will continue until 5:30 p.m., when a no-host social will be held at 54-40 Brewing, 3801 S. Truman Road, No. 1, in Washougal.

Competition will begin again at 8 a.m. Sunday.

According to tournament co-director Mike Wolfe, the men’s doubles and mixed doubles events are filled. Space for up to four more women’s doubles teams is still available. Registration closes Monday, July 11.

“Friday is open play for anyone interested in pickleball, and all spectators are welcome,” he said. “For all those who do not know what pickleball is all about, this is a great opportunity to see why it is the fastest growing sport in the country and why it is quickly becoming popular internationally.”

Food from Local Girls Hawaiian Shave Ice and Grill will be available for purchase during the tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
