First day of summer

Approximately 60 people spent the first day of summer at the Camas Municipal Pool Monday, in Crown Park.

Summer kicked off with a splash Monday, at the Camas Municipal Pool.

Built in 1954, it is the only outdoor public pool in Clark County. General admission is $4. A 10-day punch pass costs $32, and a 25-day pass is $80.

The pool will be open through Aug. 27. Open swimming sessions are from 2 to 3:30 and 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There are also evening open swims from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

An “America” themed swim night takes place Friday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be a variety of patriotic games ranging from a flag ring toss and a squirt gun race to a basketball shooting contest in the water.

The Camas pool is located at 120 N.E. 17th Ave., in Crown Park.
