Bass is the EHS Student of the Month

Excelsior High School’s “Student On Fire” for January is Isabella Bass.

Bass recently moved to Washougal from Australia. According to a press release, she wasted no time moving forward academically, while also adjusting to a new and very different environment.

Bass’s goal is to become an electrical engineer.

“As part of the EHS senior class, we look forward to seeing Bella receive her Excelsior High School diploma and fulfill her career aspiration,” the release stated.

Students named to president’s honor roll

Several students were named to the president’s honor roll at Washington State University Pullman.

To be named to the president’s honor roll, students must earn at least a 3.75 semester GPA or have a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

1980s dance party to feature Nu Shooz

The Camas Booster Club is hosting a fundraiser featuring Portland-based band Nu Shooz.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Westlie Ford, 40 S. Marina Way, Washougal. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, $50 each, will include a light dinner buffet. Beverages will be available for purchase. There will be live and silent auctions.

This is a 21 and over event.

Nu Shooz hits included, “I Can’t Wait,” “Point of No Return,’ and “Should I Say Yes.”

WSD plans preschool open house

An open house for the Washougal School District’s 2016-2017 preschool program will be held Wednesday, March 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Gause Elementary School, 1100 34th St., in room 111.

Families with children age 3 to 5 will have the opportunity to obtain information about the preschool classes held at each of the district’s elementary schools.

Attendees will learn about curriculum, activities, collaboration with kindergarten classrooms and registration.

Brickzone Kids sets open house

Brickzone Kids, 2213 “E” St., Washougal, is having an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19 for its Little Builders Preschool.

Parents can meet teachers, check out the program and register for the 2016-17 school year.
