Candidate filing period begins Monday morning

Open seats include Clark County Council positions

The candidate filing period for 2016 opens Monday.

Candidates can file at the Clark County Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St., Vancouver, from 8 a.m. Monday, May 16 to 5 p.m. Friday, May 20, or online at http://clarkvotes.org from 9 a.m., Monday, May 16 through 4 p.m., Friday, May 20.

The offices open for candidate filings this year include the office of U.S. senator; U.S. representative, Third Congressional District; all state offices; state senator and state representative positions for the 14th, 17th, 18th, 20th and 49th Legislative Districts; three Supreme Court justice positions; Court of Appeals justice position, all 10 Superior Court judge positions; county offices of County Council Districts No. 3 and No. 4; Clark Public Utilities District commissioner for District 2 position; 252 Republican precinct committee officer positions and 252 Democratic precinct committee officer positions.

A complete list of offices open for election and applicable filing fees is available at the Elections Office, or online at clark.wa.gov/elections/candidates.

The Primary Election will be held Aug. 2, followed by the General Election Nov. 8.
