The second annual Holiday Sip & Shop will provide a small town festive experience in Downtown Camas.

The event is an after hours shopping, dining, and historic tour event on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 4 to 9 p.m.

A fundraiser for the Downtown Camas Association, it will feature holiday shopping specials, specialty drinks, treats, caroling and entertainment.

The evening also includes a ride on a double decker bus and a tour of the newly refurbished Camas Mill Interpretive Center. The Interpretive Center was completed by Georgia Pacific in October and boasts an elaborate mill history timeline, videos, mill artifacts, and historic mill products in an industrial aesthetic.

Local historian Virginia Warren will be on hand from 5 to 8 p.m. to talk about the mill and its role in the city’s history.

A double decker bus will make frequent loops through downtown and nearby neighborhoods and will share historic and fun facts about Camas and its homes and buildings as well as holiday music and complimentary refreshments.

“Last year was so much fun!” said Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the DCA. “What a great way to spend time together for the holidays in Downtown Camas. This is a classy shopping event with lots of added activities and celebrates our town history and the holiday season.”

Tickets are $25 per person, which includes the double decker bus ride, a free drink in a downtown location of the ticket holder’s choice, Mill Interpretive Center tour, two tickets to enter holiday raffles of choice, and a holiday passport.

The Washougal High School XET Carolers will be returning to provide holiday caroling throughout the town during the evening.
