Donna Jean Schaplow Kelly
April 4, 1945 ~ April 3, 2017

Donna Schaplow Kelly passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 3, 2017. Born in Vancouver, Washington, on April 4, 1945, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel E. Kelly.

She is survived by her loving family: Heather Blackthorn, of Vancouver, Washington, and grandchildren, Cecelia and Malcolm; Sam Kelly, Jr., of Seattle, Washington; William Kelly, Brenda Kelly, Sharon Kelly-North, and grandson, Madison North. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary Schaplow and Don Schaplow.

Throughout her entire life and career, Donna was a known ally for educational and equal rights. Her grace, optimism, and spirit influenced everyone who knew her both personally and professionally. In her life’s work she strived to make the world a more peaceful place, and truly believed in the inherent good of people.

In lieu of flowers, Donna requested that donations be made to the Dr. Samuel E. Kelly Scholarship Fund through the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity at the University of Washington, or the Washougal High School Scholarship Fund in Washougal, Washington.

Per her request, there will be no service.

Edwyna ‘Eddie’ McAninch

Edwyna “Eddie” McAninch died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. She was 89.

Memorial service will be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Camas, at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Friends of the Columbia Gorge, 333 S.W. 5th Ave., #300, Portland, OR 97204, or the Grand Canyon Trust, 2601 N. Fort Valley Road, Flagstaff, AZ 86001.

Curtis L. Marshall

Curtis Lee Marshall died on Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home in Vancouver. He was 81.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, at 2 p.m., at Cheryl Moller’s home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the animal shelter of choice.

Belinda M. Renshaw

Belinda M. Renshaw died Friday, March 31, 2017. She was 43.

Christopher M. Libert

Christopher M. Libert, of Portland, Oregon, died Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was 40.

Straub’s Funeral Home and Columbia River Cremation is handling the arrangements.

Gerald Duley

Gerald Duley, of Camas, died Monday, April 10, 2017. He was 70.
