The Donald and Angeline Stevenson off-leash dog park in Washougal will close Friday, April 28.

The field, west of Bi-Mart at 3003 Addy St., has been used as a park for licensed dogs since November of 2009.

It was originally scheduled to close on Oct. 31, 2016, but Dog Owners Group for Park Access in Washington (DOGPAW) negotiated with the landowner, East Village Investors, LLC, to temporarily reopen the park Jan. 2, 2017.

The 15.97 acre parcel, which includes the 6.4-acre off-leash area, is being marketed for sale or lease as a site for mixed-use retail and higher-density housing.

Volunteers will be needed to help dismantle the dog park Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7.
