News, News Police say a delivery driver who had pulled off of Washougal River Road near milepost 7.5 this afternoon to arrange items in his vehicle was the victim of an assault and attempted robbery.
Washougal police officers, along with deputies from the Clark County and Skamania County sheriff’s departments, responded to the attempted robbery at 12:45 p.m., this afternoon. They say two males pulled their silver Mazda sedan behind the stopped package delivery vehicle, assaulted the driver and attempted to steal packages from the delivery van.
The driver was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The Clark County Major Crimes Team is investigating the incident.
