Camas High School DECA members recently racked up several awards at an International Conference in Anaheim, California.
DECA, a marketing club for high school and college students, brought 25 CHS members to the competition and had its best showing in history, with six students moving on to the second day of competition.
Local competition winners include: Liz Schwartkopf, first-place in Automotive Services Marketing; Ashley Miles, first-place in Restaurant and Food Service Management; Kevin Chen and Cami Kirby, second-place in Creative Marketing Project; and Skylar Becerra and Xiansheng Yan, top 10 in Business Service Operations Management.
In their free time, the students visited Disneyland, Universal Studios and enjoyed the pool.

Approximately 20,000 DECA members and advisors took part in the festivities and competition, which began April 26.
DECA is an organization that prepares students for careers in all areas of business through competitions in which participants are asked to solve business scenarios or research a particular business in order to suggest improvements.
According to its literature, the club hopes to “equip the next generation with skills in the areas of leadership, professionalism and community leadership.”
