Sunny Adams, co-owner of Motoco Washougal, modifies a kickstand on a customer?s sport bike. The new business also services all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and street and dirt bikes.

A Washougal man has fulfilled a lifelong dream to open a motorcycle parts and repair shop.

Sunny Adams has been riding and working on motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles for more than 20 years.

He and his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Adams, opened Motoco Washougal in August.

Sunny provides tune-ups and mounting and balancing of tires on ATVs, motorcycles, street bikes and dirt bikes, as well as dual sport motorcycles, which are street legal but also equipped to go off-road.

“Everyone seems to have a ‘toy’ in their garage,” Sandy said. “Motorcycle riding is a family sport. There are like-minded people here.”

Motoco Washougal sells motorcycle parts and accessories, including helmets, goggles, oil and filters, spark plugs, handlebars and tire gauges, as well as helmets, hoodies and gloves.

Sunny, a former general contractor, previously provided home maintenance and remodeling services in Camas. He also is a former photographer of off-road desert races.

The Adams previously owned and operated several small businesses, including a contracting company, a woodworking business and a handcrafted paper-making company.

The Adams, who moved from New Mexico to Camas during the summer of 2015, are enjoying the weather in the Pacific Northwest.

“We were just ready for a change from the desert,” Sandy said.

They moved from Camas to Washougal in March of 2017.

“We love that we are potentially filling a niche in the Pacific Northwest for dual sport riders and outdoor enthusiasts, and we expect that our name will eventually be recognized beyond Washougal, Clark County, Washington and the Pacific Northwest,” Sandy said.

Motoco Washougal, located at 1324 “E” St., is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 360-335-8001, email motoco.us@gmail.com or visit www.facebook.com/motocowashougal/.
