The owner of a boutique salon in downtown Camas said people do not have to drive to Portland to get great hair and fashions.

Lori Briscoe-Kirk describes her business, Camas Beauty Bar & Boutique, as “a beautiful place for women to come down to, that sells anything girly, including soft, comfy, casual clothes.”

The clothes include robes, nightshirts, pastel tops and patterned leggings.

Briscoe-Kirk, 46, is a hair design artist and master trained microblading tech. Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that partially or fully camouflages missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.

Briscoe-Kirk has 23 years experience in hair design, previously working in Portland and southern California. She is a big believer in attending continued education, hands-on classes “to stay jazzed” about what she is doing.

“It motivates me,” Briscoe-Kirk said. “Hair is like fashion. It changes.”

Salon Manager Karli Marie-King provides hair design and microblading services. She also can be available as a makeup artist for special occasions.

Hair services at Camas Beauty Bar & Boutique include cuts, colors, touch-ups and partial and full highlights. Skin care options include deep pore cleansing, resurfacing vitamin and firming collagen enhancing facials. Eyelash extensions are available upon consultation.

Unite haircare products, including shampoos and conditioners, and the Yon-Ka Paris skincare line are available to purchase at Camas Beauty Bar & Boutique.

The boutique has gift ideas, such as barware, jewelry, leather bracelets made in Italy, note pads, pens and key chains. There are also room sprays, candles, bath salts and shower gels.

Camas Beauty Bar, without the boutique, was previously located for more than a year at 321 N.E. Fourth Ave., in a room behind Flow Hot Yoga.

Briscoe-Kirk said she thought about moving her business to the Southeast 192nd Avenue area of Camas and Vancouver, but it was congested.

She also considered relocating Camas Beauty Bar to downtown Washougal.

“It will be super cute in 10 years, ” she said.

Briscoe-Kirk, a Stevenson native and mother of three, has lived in Camas for 14 years.

A grand opening celebration for Camas Beauty Bar & Boutique’s new location at 210 N.E. Fourth Ave., was held during the Downtown Camas Association’s First Friday festivities on Aug. 4.

“Downtown Camas is really changing,” Briscoe-Kirk said. “I just want to be part of it.

“We just want to make people feel beautiful,” she added regarding her business. “It’s a safe place, where there is confidentiality and comfort. People feel loved and comfortable, not intimidated.”
