Camas planning conference starts Friday

Topics will include the city’s future financial needs

The Camas City Council will hold its annual planning conference Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27 and 28.

On Friday, the group will meet from 1 to 5 p.m. Discussion topics will include strategic planning, long-term plans for the community center building in Oak Park, parks and recreation master plans for Fallen Leaf Lake Park and the North Shore area, a report from the library’s board of trustees and the community development department’s 2017 work plan.

At 5 p.m., the City Council will hold a joint meeting with the Camas School Board.

Saturday’s session will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Discussion that day will focus on the city’s future financial needs.

The two-day event, which will be held at Lacamas Lake Lodge, 227 N.W. Lake Road, will be facilitated by Camas School District Superintendent Jeff Snell.

The City Council’s next workshop and regular meeting are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 6, at 4:30 and 7 p.m., respectively.
