Family members of Sandra Ladd, the 71-year-old Washougal grandmother found murdered in her home in June 2020, say they are frustrated by what they consider a lack of movement in the homicide investigation.

Camas officials weigh intersection improvements

A recent analysis of a busy Camas intersection shows the merger of Northwest Lake Road and Northwest Sierra Street must be improved to withstand future population growth, ensure the safety of road users and alleviate long wait times for drivers turning left from Sierra Street onto Lake Road, one of Camas’ busiest thoroughfares.

Sports field assessment back on table

A plan to assess the state of Camas’ sports fields is back on the table four months after the majority of Camas City Council members derailed the Parks and Recreation Department contract.

The Camas City Council has cleared the way for a new Camas-Washougal Fire Department (CWFD) headquarters station to be built in downtown Camas.

Officials debate Washougal’s storm response

A Washougal City Council member is calling for the city of Washougal to improve its response to severe weather events, after back-to-back snow and ice storms in mid-January made roads and sidewalks impassable, stranding many Washougal residents inside their homes for several days.

Cities agree to extend fire agreement

Camas and Washougal city officials this week agreed to extend the decade-long interlocal agreement that merged the two cities’ fire departments into the joint Camas-Washougal Fire Department (CWFD) in 2013, and to place a regional fire authority proposal before local voters in 2025.
