Teams of three runners, dressed in hero and villain costumes, each ran a 5K leg that began at Pendleton Woolen Mills and continued along the Dike Trail. Taking home the $150 prize as the fastest team was Joe Dudman, Anthony Lee and Gary Daubenspeck, who completed the relay in 56 minutes, 54 seconds. A team from Washougal dressed as Charlie's Angels won for best costume, an honor that was determined by crowd applause at the nearby Oktoberfest at Reflection Plaza. Benzler said plans are already in the works for next year's race, which will once again be held in conjunction with Oktoberfest. In addition to the relay, the 2017 event will also feature a Superhero Kids 1K.
