Washougal police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning near a Mexican restaurant.

No one was injured.

The shooting was reported at 12:38 a.m., near the Los Dos Compadres II, 1713 E St. in Washougal. The altercation appears to have started in the restaurant, spilled into the parking lot and across the street to the Washougal Food Center parking lot, Washougal police Detective Kate Tierney said.

“Many witnesses have conflicting stories about what happened and how it happened,” Tierney said.

Everyone involved in the incident has been identified, and police are continuing their investigation, Tierney said.

She said that the recommended charges in the case could include first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and reckless endangerment. Those recommendations will be forwarded to the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

No names have been released pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The important thing is that nobody was injured and no property was damaged,” Tierney said.
