(Susan Goldman/Contributed). Camas High School senior Alexa Efraimson (seated in the front row, second from left) joined other top athletes from around the United States Tuesday night, at the Gatorade Athlete of the Year awards ceremony, in Los Angeles. She was one of the six finalists for the Gatorade Female High School Athlete of the Year honor. The award went to Brianna Turner, of Manvel, Texas, while the male honor was presented to Karl Towns, from Metuchen, N.J. Both honorees are basketball players. All of the Athlete of the Year nominees will walk the ESPYS red carpet tonight and be featured as special guests during the ESPYS awards Show. It will air live on ESPN at 6 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time). Efraimson won the USA Junior Track and Field 1,500-meter championship July 6, in Eugene, Ore. The victory helped Efraimson qualify for the IAAF Junior World Championships July 22 to 27, also in Eugene.
