Watercolors by Camas native Skip Enge will soon be on display at Latte Da Coffeehouse and Wine Bar.

An artist’s reception opening event will be held Friday, Feb. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the coffee shop located at 205 E. 39th St., in Vancouver.

Enge, a 1971 Camas High School graduate and a Fern Prairie resident, began to have an interest in art at a young age, and spent his career as a museum exhibit designer, graphic designer, fabricator and creator of one-of-a-kind solutions for museums and collections.

For the past 35 years he has exclusively painted in watercolor, and tends to focus on subjects and ideas that have personal significance.

“I always strive to do something new, not satisfied with the usual,” he said. “Recently, I have been writing poetry as an adjunct to my painting. Hopefully, I have more challenging decades of painting ahead of me.”
