In 1965, Fergy enlisted in the US Army and was active for his full term. He was a Rifle Expert and received a Medal in Defense. Was First Cav in Tank Division. While stationed in Germany, he met his first love, Claudia Hahn, married and had his first born Douglas. The family settled in Camas and had daughter Sylvia. They later divorced but remained friends.

After Fergy was discharged, he started a career with Crown Zellerbach for many years and transferred to Fiberweb in Washougal and retired after 35 years.

First and foremost, Ferg loved his family, Harleys, music, living on the Washougal River, flying his model airplanes, storytelling, being with all his close friends (his brotherhood), but most importantly his soulmate, Sue.

Ferg and Sue loved, rode and cherished many memories for 26 years. They married June 7, 1997, and enjoyed his blended family that included parties, holidays, sporting events, beach trips, gardening and the quiet times they had together.

Fergy is survived by his wife, Sue, former wife, Candy, son, Douglas H. Ferguson, daughter, Sylvia K. Swiger. Granddaughters, Khyla C. Ferguson, Alyssa M. Swiger. Stepson, Mike V. Ostrom, stepdaughter, Nikki Bland. Grandchildren include Ciara Blair, Haley Ostrom, Dylan Ostrom, Olivia Ostrom and Samantha Bland and his angel in heaven, Lacey Ostrom. Brothers, Ed Croll, Leonard Ferguson, Richard Tuttle and sister, Dolly Cantrell. Predeceased by Sonny Ferguson, Patricia Croll and Arlene. He had many nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his fluffy companion, Tootsie.

At his request, there will be a celebration of life for all to be listed at a later date.
