Windsurfing and kiteboarding enthusiasts often come to Stevenson to practice their craft on the Columbia River. This summer, there are several contests featuring amateurs and professionals.
Walking Man Brewery is a popular spot for thirsty hikers, windsurfers and day trippers. It now opens at noon every day except Tuesday, when it is closed. The brewery features Northwest fare, as well as a seasonal selection of ales and root beer for non-drinkers.
Clark & Lewie's Travelers Rest Saloon & Grill is a popular dining spot situated on the Stevenson waterfront.
Stevenson Landing is a pier located on the Columbia River near the downtown area. Until the early 1900s, its primary purpose was to ferry goods and passengers to and from the city. Today, it is mostly used by tourists hoping to capture photos of the Columbia River, observe windsurfers and as a dock for cruise ships.
Hawk Merlin Studios, a thematic gallery, writer's den and creativity lab, opened for business in May. It is located at 113 S.W. Russell Ave., in Stevenson.
Stevenson, Washington has come a long way from a sleepy little town on the way to something better.
Now, day trippers can find a plethora of activities to suit their tastes, from an old-fashioned county fair to breweries, a selection of restaurants, art galleries and riverfront activities.
