The stars of a popular History series will soon be on the hunt for “rusty gold,” in Washington.

According to a news release Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, stars of “American Pickers,” will film episodes of the series throughout the region this summer.

“The American Pickers, Mike and Frank, are returning to Washington this September and we’re looking for leads throughout the region, specifically interesting people with interesting items and lots of them,” said Natasha Moore, casting associate for “American Pickers.”

The documentary series explores the world of antique “picking.” The show, preparing to enter its fifth season, follows self-described modern-day archaeologists Fritz and Wolfe as they hunt for valuable antiques throughout America.

“They are always excited to find sizable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them,” a news release stated. “As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, the pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items.”

Show producers are looking for people who have large, private collections or accumulations of antiques.

Examples of the types of items the duo are looking for include motor scooters, motorcycles, furniture, radios, toys, vending machines, oil bottles and cans, movie posters, advertising items, bicycles, pottery, signs, clocks, wagon wheels, telephones, juke boxes, license plates, photographs and military items.

Those who would like to be considered for the show should email their name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-653-7878.

“We are trying to get the word out as soon as possible, so the sooner people with collections reach out to us the better,” Moore said.

“American Pickers,” which airs new episodes on Wednesdays, is produced by Cineflix Productions for History.
