Races include Camas and Washougal city council seats

It is crunch time to vote in the Tuesday, Aug. 1 primary.
Camas City Council member Melissa Smith will face Emilia Brasier and Amanda Stamness, for the Ward 1, Position No. 2 seat.
The Washougal City Council Position 6 candidates are Julie Russell, Nettie Morris and Adam Philbin. Incumbent Dave Shoemaker, in his eighth year as a council member, is not seeking another term.
Ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 1, in order to be counted. Ballots returned through drop boxes must be deposited by 8 p.m.,
Aug. 1. There is a ballot drop box, outside the Post Office at 440 N.E. Fifth Ave., Camas.
On Election Day, more than 30 ballot deposit locations throughout Clark County will be open until 8 p.m. Camas sites include Dorothy Fox Elementary School, 2623 N.W. Sierra St.; Grace Foursquare Church, 717 S.E. Everett Road; Helen Baller Elementary School, 1954 N.E. Garfield St.; and Prune Hill Elementary School, 1601 N.W. Tidland St.
In Washougal, ballots can be delivered to the community center, 1681 ā€œCā€ St.
The Clark County Elections Office will release preliminary results by 8:30 p.m., on Election Day, and official results will be released and the election will be certified Tuesday, Aug. 15.
