Local Dairy Queen owner ‘Willi’ McOmie is retiring after nearly 40 years of serving up sweet treats

Family and friends, as well as employees and customers, recently gathered at the Camas Dairy Queen to show their appreciation and affection for the woman who has owned the restaurant for 37 years.

Wilma “Willi” McOmie, 80, received flowers, balloons, cards, cupcakes and hugs — lots of hugs — from children and adults, during an Aug. 25 retirement celebration.
