Camas First Friday goes virtual May 31 through June 5

The COVID-19 crisis continues to stymie large-group gatherings, so the Downtown Camas Association’s monthly First Friday event will go virtual again in June, with a week-long list of online unicorn- and rainbow-themed family activities, local art shows, ways to connect to downtown Camas merchants and chances to win prizes.

The Downtown Camas Association (DCA) will post activities and announce daily winners of $25 downtown merchant gift cards each day of the First Friday extravaganza on its Facebook page at facebook.com/camasfirstfriday/.

The week-long event kicks off with an online unicorn and rainbow crossword puzzle and word search on Sunday, May 31, and a unicorn-themed seek and find activity on Monday, June 1. On Tuesday, June 2, post a picture of something magical. On Wednesday, June 3, participants will search for themed items in a picture like “Where’s Waldo” but with a unicorn and rainbow theme. On Thursday, June 4, participants will post pictures of rainbows made with scavenged items found around the house. And on Friday, June 5, there will be a scavenger hunt passport game with answers found on downtown merchants’ websites. Passports — available on the DCA Facebook page — must be completed by 3 p.m. Friday, June 5, to be entered to win prizes.

Attic Gallery and Camas Gallery will both host Facebook tours of new art shows, and the DCA will announce winners at a 5 p.m. Facebook Live event on Friday, June 5. The DCA and sponsors have donated the gift card prizes to help support downtown merchants during the COVID-19 crisis.
