The 158-member Camas High School Marching Band performed as part of the Veterans Parade on Saturday at Fort Vancouver. Pictured are junior trumpeter Sam Nicacio (center) and sophomores Amanda Felipe (lower left) and Robbie Bruce (upper right). Richard Mancini, who had been the CHS band director for 10 years, said the local group is the only high school band that plays in the parade every year. “I think it’s important to teach our students to honor and remember those who bought our freedom with their lives. This includes living veterans, of course. They took time out of their lives to preserve our freedom.” The CHS band played “America (My Country Tis of Thee),” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” See more pictures in the print edition of the Nov. 8 issue of the Post-Record.
