Kindergarten registration at Gause Elementary School will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 6.

A birth certificate and immunization records are required.

Kindergarten roundup set

Mount Pleasant School will have its annual kindergarten roundup from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 2 at the school, 152 Marble Road in Washougal.

JMS spring bazaar is April 30

Jemtegaard Middle School will host a spring bazaar and plant fair Saturday, April 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 35300 S.E. Evergreen Way.

There will be more than 20 vendors.

Pacific University students graduate, make dean’s list

Kristen Buehner from Washougal has been named to the Pacific University dean’s list.

A student must earn at least a 3.70 GPA and complete at least 12 graded hours to be named to the list.

Meanwhile, four Camas residents have earned degrees from Pacific.

They are Marc Eppinger, Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration; Ashley Harris, master’s degree in counseling psychology; Andrea Morton, doctorate in optometry with distinction and a master’s in education.

CHS student wins scholarship

Shawn Hice, a senior at Camas High School, was among five statewide winners of a Young Entrepreneur Scholarship award for the National Federation of Independent Business.

The awards are, “designed to reward and encourage entrepreneurial talents among high school students,” according to a press release.

Hice owns and operates Logic Core Corporation. He will receive $2,000 toward college and university costs.

To qualify, students must be high school seniors who own and operate their own small business.
