State parks need funding The public deserves a state budget that will preserve our State Parks. Natural and historic resources are being destroyed by neglect due to lack of funding and maintenance, which is irresponsible and shameful.

Camas Farmer’s Market opens June 3

The Camas Farmer's Market will soon celebrate the beginning of its eighth season with fresh, locally grown produce, delicious food, healthy lifestyle information and live music. Opening day festivities on June 3 will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Scott Higgins, and a health fair featuring Pure Wellness Chiropractic and 10 additional local health organizations.

Is this progress?

Like many citizens of Clark County, I have become increasingly alarmed over the proposed unrestrained growth that is taking place in East Clark County. We see a pro-growth planning process that is leading parts of our county into an environmental future we may not recognize or desire to live in. This kind of massive growth places unnecessary burdens on the people who already live here.

When a new I-5 bridge is built in 20 years, it will be built with two additional lanes in each direction. It will be high enough to accommodate river traffic. Oregon will add more lanes to downtown Portland, it will be done right to accommodate all types of traffic, including light rail.
