Local students excel in essay competitions

Local students were recently recognized for their writings about patriotism and the contributions of veterans on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Camas Community Center.

“Building Resiliency” workshop set

A free workshop, “Building Resiliency,” is being offered for parents of children of all ages from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3 at Washougal High School, 1201 39th St.

Camas High School student Megan Baffaro is collecting donations of pajamas, slippers, coloring books and colored pencils for a Mexican orphanage, as part of  her senior project. Behind her are slips of paper and a photo of a child. Students can take the paper and then donate the requested items.
